Ultrasonography of hepatobiliary system uses reflected non-radiation high frequency sound waves to produce images of the liver, gallbladder or other organs in the upper abdomen. It can diagnose cirrhosis, liver cancer, fatty liver, liver hemangioma, liver cyst, bile duct obstruction, gallstone or inflammation of gallbladder. It can also be used for liver cancer screening. You need to avoid eating for at least 6 hours before the test.
